Experimental Simulation of Titan's Stratospheric Photochemistry: Benzene (C 6 H 6 ) Ices

چکیده

We performed laboratory experiments to study the photochemical evolution induced by long-UV irradiation of benzene ices in Titan's atmosphere. The aim this was investigate whether photo-processed could lead formation aerosols analogs those observed stratosphere. Prior that, spectroscopic properties amorphous and crystalline were studied as a function temperature, using infrared spectroscopy. UV photolysis (? > 230 nm) led volatile photo-products, among which fulvene is identified, residue dominated ?CH IR features, demonstrating that pure aromatic-based polymeric structures are not sufficient explain composition stratospheric haze layer. However, we provide characterization long-UV-induced benzene-containing aerosol analogs, will contribute surface organics These data prime interest context future Dragonfly space mission.

Isotopic composition of stratospheric water vapor: Measurements and photochemistry

We present a photochemical model describing the changes in the isotopic composition of stratospheric water vapor that result from methane oxidation and reactions with O( ). We then compare model calculations with measurements made with the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory far-infrared spectrometer during seven balloon flights that took place between 1989 and 1997. The agreement between the...

Stratospheric Aerosols from Ci-i4 Photochemistry on Neptune

We have used a combined photochemicalcondensation model to study hydrocarbon ices produced from CH4 photolysis in the stratosphere of Neptune. We predict a total stratospheric haze production rate of 4.2 X 10-15 grams cm -2 s -1 (75% ethane, 25% acetylene, trace diacetylene). The total production rate is insensitive to within a factor of two to order of magnitude changes in the eddy diffusion c...

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Selective Activation of C−H Bonds in a Cascade Process Combining Photochemistry and Biocatalysis

Selective oxyfunctionalizations of inert C-H bonds can be achieved under mild conditions by using peroxygenases. This approach, however, suffers from the poor robustness of these enzymes in the presence of hydrogen peroxide as the stoichiometric oxidant. Herein, we demonstrate that inorganic photocatalysts such as gold-titanium dioxide efficiently provide H2 O2 through the methanol-driven reduc...
